Snow day-School closure

Parents and Staff
We have been on site for some considerable time this morning and efforts were made to clear the paths. Due to blizzard conditions and high winds it was an impossible task.
Church Path is extremely treacherous and with surrounding side roads and all pathways still covered in snow and ice, we feel it is unsafe for both pedestrians, parents with young children and pushchairs, in addition for drivers, to travel. We still have a significant number of staff who have to travel some distance and are still unable to make the journey. Kent Police are advising of only essential journeys, so it is important that we heed that advice. We are also experiencing some frozen pipes, so water is also not available.

This has been a hard decision to make, but we have had to consider the safety of staff, children and also parents.
We wanted to give you advanced notice today so you are able to make informed plans. World Book Day and our Curriculum Day will be re-arranged as soon as we are back.

We look forward to the school reopening on Monday. Enjoy the weekend and fingers crossed for warmer weather soon. To help you warm your heart, here is a picture of some of the ducklings in FS2 which have hatched over the last few days.
